Parent’s Association Core Functions

Seasonal Events with Parental Involvement
Year-round, we host a diverse range of exciting events for parents, children, and the entire Mt. Olive community. Parents play a crucial role in making these events successful.
September
Meet and Greet:
- Two parent representatives host an informal meet and greet for each classroom.
- Parents bring pastries and fruit, while coffee is provided by the school.
- A great opportunity for parents to connect over treats and coffee.
October
Fall Rummage Sale:
- Parents donate items to be sold at the sale.
- Volunteers help set up and manage the sale.
Halloween Bake Sale:
- Parents bake sweet or savory items for the bake sale.
- Halloween Parade
Scholastic Book Fair:
- Parents assist with collecting money during the fair.
November
Turkey Day Luncheon
- Children prepare their own Thanksgiving feast.
- Parents contribute ingredients for class food dishes.
- Volunteers assist with setup, serving, and cleanup.
December
Christmas:
- Holiday performances for each classroom
- Teacher Luncheon given by parents
Christmas Raffle:
- Each classroom donates an item for themed raffle baskets.
- Baskets are displayed during Christmas performances.
- Tickets can be purchased, and winners are drawn after the last performance.
February
Valentine Bake Sale:
- Parents contribute sweet and savory treats for the sale.
March / April
Annual Easter Egg Hunt:
- The Easter bunny hides eggs on the playground for children to find.
- All school art show
May
Teacher Appreciation Week:
- Children bring special items for their teachers.
- Teachers enjoy a lunch hosted by the Parent Association.
June
Preparations for Summer Break:
- Reflections on a year of growth and learning.
