FOSTERING CREATIVITY & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Here's what your child can expect:
Indoor Activities
- Circle Time: Engaging group sessions where children learn, sing, and share stories.
- Creative Art Experiences: Encouraging imagination and exploration of colors.
- Puzzles & Small Motor Skills: Building cognitive abilities, and eye-hand coordination
- Alphabet Learning: Introducing letters and writing skills.
- Counting and Colors: Fun ways to learn numbers and identify colors.
Outdoor Adventures
- Climbing Structure: Three slides, monkey bars, and ball play.
- Dramatic Play: Imaginative scenarios and role-playing.
- Gardening: Planting seeds and tending to our garden areas.
- Water Play: In warmer months, we incorporate water activities, including a water table
- Swimming Lessons: Our 4-year-olds enjoy swimming lessons during the summer class sessions at the municipal pool at Santa Monica College with professional instructors.
Special Programs
- Church Time: Once a week all the children gather together with our Pastor for Christian songs and stories.
- Gymnastics: Optional gymnastics class for interested children.
- Euro Soccer USA: Optional soccer classes. The coaches teach ball control & agility through imaginative games.
Beyond the Classroom
- Field trips: Our 4-year-olds get to explore local businesses and cultural centers. Chaperoned by parents. Some destinations include the Santa Monica Fire Dept., Bob’s Market, Santa Monica College Planetarium, Heal the Bay Aquarium, and the Pumpkin Patch.
- Guest Speakers: Special guests from various fields come to share their knowledge with the children.
- Parents are invited to come in and share their time and talents.
At Mt. Olive Preschool, we ensure that each day is filled with activities that not only entertain but also educate, helping children grow into well-rounded individuals ready for the challenges of Kindergarten.
