Parent's Association

Mt Olive Preschool has a very active Parent's Association. Parent representatives attend monthly meetings to plan and carry out activities that support our school. These events include fund-raisers as well as fun events for classrooms, families and the school. We encourage all families to volunteer at least 10 hours at these events. Getting to know other parents and the friendships that form are an added benefit.

Mt. Olive Parent's Association provides support for the preschool, teachers and Director by coordinating functions for fund raising as well as activities through the school year to promote a happy, safe community for our children. They help maintain the wonderful, enriching environment at Mt. Olive. A parent's involvement in their child's school affirms the importance of a quality education for children and as a result, the children feel proud and excited about their school environment.

These events are an important part of our preschool community. Some of our events are fund raisers and some are traditions that have been handed down through the years. The success of these events is only possible through the help of parents. Our fund raising revenue goes towards the Mt. Olive Scholarship Fund to help families who may need some assistance with tuition. Monies are also used to make improvements around the school. Past efforts have gone towards starting the weekly music program, purchasing new playground equipment, and making playground improvements.

Parents may help with some of these wonderful events held throughout the year

September:  Back to school night and Scholastic Book Fair.

October:  The Annual fall Rummage Sale and Halloween Bake Sale.

November:  The Annual Turkey Day at school, where children in classrooms prepare their own Thanksgiving feast. Parent volunteers help set up, serve and clean up. A truly wonderful event. We also collect food for the Westside Food Shelter.

December:  Holiday Christmas performances, Gift donations for the needy and Teacher appreciation Lunch.

February:  Valentine Bake Sale.

March:  All School Art Show.

May:  Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Jungle Safari Carnival and Online Auction

June:  None.
